Assigned to the Sasol Lake Charles Ethane Cracker project. This $11 billion facility will produce 1.5 million tons of ethylene annually when it is complete in 2018. Designated to work with Automation Project Managers, Engineering Management, Control Systems and Process leads to ensure that the Main Automation Contractor (MAC) schedule stayed on track and avoided delays. To do this, critical units that could cause delays to Ready at Site (RAS) Schedule were identified. This information was discussed with the different engineering disciplines and engineering management team to ensure that MAC specific deliverable such as P&IDs, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Range Alarm & Trip lists and Control Narratives were prioritized. Furthermore, worked closely with leads responsible for each deliverable to create a realistic schedule and create change mitigation plans. This allowed the MAC to plan their staffing appropriately, anticipate change orders and meet RAS dates.Jointly led weekly conferences with client and MAC to prioritize engineering work fronts. Organized and led weekly teleconferences with team of 75 in Manila, Philippines to ensure that they worked efficiently and remained on task.

Tasked on the Sadara Petrochemical Complex to provide engineering support for final construction effort. This project is a $20 billion joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow.Worked alongside project managers and engineers to remotely close process-related issues before startup. Engineered cost effective solutions for site team to troubleshoot hydraulic problems. Solutions saved $65,000 in equipment and construction cost. Communicated with vendors to obtain critical information regarding the vendor's package.

Worked as a process engineer on the Marathon Galveston Bay Tier III ULSG project during the feasibility stage. Calculated relief load summary for grassroots Naphtha Hydrotreater option. Used unbalanced heath method to determine relief rates of Stabilizer and Deisopentanizer. Conducted HYSYS sensitivity analysis to optimize operating temperature, pressure and reboiler duty of the Stabilizer Overhead Drum for maximum profit. Developed projects PFD, UFD and HMB from scratch.

Worked as a Process Engineer on the Marathon FCCU Alky Revamp project. During the project, calculated hydraulics and PSV sizing for refinery grade propylene storage sphere and existing system. Updated P&ID, PFD, HMB and Material Selection Tables per client specification. Issued mechanical and instrumentation datasheets for purchase.

Designed anode binders for next-generation lithium ion batteries. Adjusted binder properties to maximize overall energy capacity and ensure a stable solid electrolyte interface to increase the cycle life and duration. Supported binder performance through lab testing such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform inferred spectrometer (FTIR), 90° peel test, and Mandrel testing.

Worked with tight-knit group reporting to the Vice President of North American Operations. Restructured Process Engineers territories for cost efficiency, estimated to save 10% on travel per year. Presented recommendations to the corporate executives. Second assignment, recharacterized out of specification metalworking lubricants in R&D laboratory. Analyzed materials using Fourier Transform Inferred Spectrometer (FTIR)and titrimetry. Adjusted materials accordingly, saving $47,000 of final product.

Studied the transformation of insulin to fibrils as a model of the amyloid beta protein in the human body. Used a Quartz Crystal Microbalence with dissipation (QCM-D) to study the interaction of A-beta on a lipid layer. A-beta misfolding is believed to cause nuerodergenative diseases such as Alzheimers. Worked with magnetic nanoparticles in an attempt to remove the insulin before it misfolds into oligomers and fibrils.
