Senior Electrical Engineering Associate
CurrentNuclear Power Group• Act as the responsible engineer (RE) for engineering change (EC) packages at numerous nuclear power plants, including the development of electrical engineering deliverables.• Interface with the client in the development, review, installation, and close-out of ECs.• Organize and run project and vendor design meetings.• Interview candidates for engineering positions.• Coordinate with design staff and mechanical, structural, instrumentation and control, fire protection, and HVAC engineers in the development of EC deliverables.• Provide electrical engineering support for ECs under other REs.• Formally mentor new engineers to the company.• Preparation of single-line, three-line, phasing, schematic, master diagram, and wiring drawings.• Preparation of specifications and other procurement documentation for transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, power circuit breakers, inverters, batteries, and other low voltage devices.• Review of vendor documentation.• Prepare AC system loading, DC system loading, battery duty cycle, short circuit, voltage drop, ampacity, protective device coordination, relay setting, ampacity, and heat loading calculations and evaluations.• Organize and participate in walkdowns at nuclear power plants.• Provide on-site engineering support during nuclear power plant refueling outages in support of EC installation.
