Nuclear Power Group• Act as the responsible engineer (RE) for engineering change (EC) packages at numerous nuclear power plants, including the development of electrical engineering deliverables.• Interface with the client in the development, review, installation, and close-out of ECs.• Organize and run project and vendor design meetings.• Interview candidates for engineering positions.• Coordinate with design staff and mechanical, structural, instrumentation and control, fire protection, and HVAC engineers in the development of EC deliverables.• Provide electrical engineering support for ECs under other REs.• Formally mentor new engineers to the company.• Preparation of single-line, three-line, phasing, schematic, master diagram, and wiring drawings.• Preparation of specifications and other procurement documentation for transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution panels, power circuit breakers, inverters, batteries, and other low voltage devices.• Review of vendor documentation.• Prepare AC system loading, DC system loading, battery duty cycle, short circuit, voltage drop, ampacity, protective device coordination, relay setting, ampacity, and heat loading calculations and evaluations.• Organize and participate in walkdowns at nuclear power plants.• Provide on-site engineering support during nuclear power plant refueling outages in support of EC installation.

Center for the Advancement of Science Education - Community Initiatives• Developed, prototyped, sourced materials, and implemented training for after-school STEM curriculum.• Facilitated teacher professional development workshops on after-school curriculum.• Maintained strong relationships with 30 science club facilitators, by providing professional development, participating in Family Science Nights, and site visits.• Helped organize and implement four 1,000 participant Family Day events at the Museum for science-club participants, their parents and teachers.• Developed STEM programming for implementation by summer high-school aged interns.• Participated in group interviews, created daily programming rotations, conducted training, provided one-on-one coaching, and supervised 21 high-school interns over the summer.• Helped create Summer Brain Games activities to engage families in STEM during their summer break.• Represented MSI’s Summer Brain Games on live television in Chicago.• Participated in outreach programs including Park Voyagers facilitation at numerous Chicago Park District locations and PNC pre-school programming.

• Developed, implemented and evaluated public learning experiences for the general public at the museum. • Developed and implemented a training program for summer interns from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) with the goal of teaching them useful techniques for the effective communication of difficult scientific content. • Provided direct supervision and coaching of approximately 12 summer interns from IIT as they learned and facilitated our floor programming to museum guests. • Responsible for the museum’s human patient simulator, including being the liaison between the vendor and the museum, training staff members and interns in its operation, and overseeing its maintenance.• Organized MSI coverage of the launch of the Space Shuttle mission STS-131 and traveled to the Kennedy Space Center for the Museum.
