Specifically, I have provided guidance to several on-premise and Cloud customers in standing up their infrastructure, rolling out Tanium across their enterprises, troubleshooting any issues that arose, and ensuring all of the Tanium modules they purchased were operationalized. My SME area of focus was the Discover module, where I assisted numerous customers all across the US in understanding, operationalizing, and optimizing it for their unique environments. I also helped develop and deliver several Tanium Converge Deploy related labs.

Technical Fellow for the Enterprise Architecture group for Fedex, where my duties have included providing authoritative functional and technical expertise for my division applications, helping drive the modernization of Fedex applications, evaluation of system designs, participation in corporate application architecture councils, providing guidance to projects looking to utilize business rules technologies, leading vendor evaluations and selection, and helping set future application and architecture strategies.Prior to this, I have held a variety of technical and management positions at Fedex, which include: - Part of Reliability team whose responsibility was to provide tactical, reliability, and crisis management for Fedex.com and related applications. Specifically worked with the next generation of shipping applications to ensure their reliability. - Technical lead for a team developing the next generation of shipping software for Fedex utilizing a business rules engine (Ilog JRules) integrated with a Java Service Oriented Architecture.- Held technical lead and managerial positions on an Enterprise Relationship Management project (called Nexus) used by Fedex to support it’s internal and external technologies, and the migration of this project to a J2EE architecture. As manager on this project, duties included personnel, project, and budget management for a group comprised of 14 Fedex and 5 contractor personnel, vendor evaluations and negotiations, and setting technical direction for the assigned projects and the group. As technical lead duties included setting the system architecture and development directions for our department, development of project plans and associated funding, vendor interactions, directing the prototyping of each of the system components, development and support of all interface software, assisting ongoing projects with technical and performance issues, and mentoring of department personnel.

Member of an advanced support team for Informix. Duties included diagnosis and resolution of high priority customer problems (down systems) with Informix’s Dynamic Scaleable Architecture (DSA) database software. Underwent extensive internals training on Informix version 5.x and 7.x architectures.

Memphis

As the manager of Distributed Computer Support, responsibilities included management of the 12 person group providing UNIX operating system support for all worldwide production client-server projects within FedEx (called Distributed Computer Support, or DCS). Was also responsible for directing the customization and support of a suite of distributed system management tools (Tivoli) that allow other operations groups within FedEx to function in the client server environment. Additional duties include all Informix database support for FedEx's Powership 3 project (see below).Prior to this position, worked as the technical lead in the database (Informix) and architectural development of the Powership 3 project. Duties involve directing the technical design and development of all database and systems related code utilized by over 90,000 PC based clients. This code provides shipping and related services to those clients, and was designed to be a scaleable, distributed architecture. In addition, provided system and database administration support to the project, as well as general UNIX support.

Worked as a UNIX Sales Support Consultant in Memphis, and as a UNIX consultant at defense customer sites in Maryland.Duties as Sales Support Consultant included supporting workstation/UNIX opportunities in the four state Mid-South district. This support ranged from giving presentations, setting up and giving demonstrations, performing benchmarks, installing Digital workstations and servers, instructing customers on their use, helping resolve customer problems, responding to RFP’s, and providing technical help to Digital sales reps in their accounts.As a UNIX consultant in Maryland, duties involved database porting and consulting services to a collection management/decision support project, operational support on several classified systems, benchmarking and technical support to our local and other sales organizations, aiding sales in obtaining new business within the defense and commercial communities, and ported the Next “Netinfo” code to Digital’s UNIX systems for a classified customer.

Columbia Maryland

Program manager for a $1.5M per year distributed (client/server based) collection management/decision support system. Duties included technical direction of the project, design and development of the entire system architecture (which consisted of a network of SUN workstations and servers), demonstrations of the system as it was being developed to customer personnel, administration of the network, and management of the project, which included all scheduling, costing, and tasking of 9 employees and 2 development efforts, in different areas of the country.

Columbia Maryland

Member of a networking development group for a major government contract (ASH). Duties included special purpose device driver development, TCP/IP driver modifications, design, development, and support of relational (INGRES, SYBASE) and network (TUXEDO /D) model databases, some involving real-time access, and implementation of File, Print, and mail servers between AT&T 3B’s, SUN’s, and IBM AT’s. Also developed a time synchronization program to keep a 3B computer complex synchronized with an external clock. Worked as contractor to Bell Labs from April 1986 until April 1988, at which time I became a Bell Labs employee, working on the same contract.

Designed and developed a real-time message handling protocol (AUTODIN Mode V) for a distributed message handling project. Development was done in C on VAX and SUN computers. Additional duties included system management for the systems as required. Also, ported real-time operator display software for a radar tracking project. Development was done in Jovial on a CDC Cyber 160.

Huntsville Alabama

Responsible for the design and development of a real-time database system for an airport automation system in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Development was done in FORTRAN and RMS on PDP 11/60’s running RSX 11M+.

Hampton Virginia

Consultant for Bunker to the Navy and Air Force on an automated message handling system. Development and support of the system was performed in FORTRAN and MACRO 11 on PDP 11/60’s running IAS.

Palm Bay Florida

Member of design and development team on a real-time store-and-forward project. Duties included the design and development of the network interface (DECNET), error handling, and real-time access modules, as well as a number of prototyping efforts. Development was done in PL/1, FORTRAN, and MACRO 32 on VAX’s running VMS. In addition, was the system manager for the project, which included generation, maintenance, tuning, and system programming for the VAX’s.
