About Keith West

This experience has included management of development and support personnel, program management, operations analytics software (Splunk) implementation, endpoint management software (Tanium) implementation, Java/J2EE development, Business rules development (Ilog, JBOSS BRMS, Drools), Business process management (Oracle BPM, jBPM), UNIX application development and support, application deployment development and testing (IBM UrbanCode Deploy), database (Sybase, Informix, and Oracle) development and support, UNIX device driver development, and leading numerous prototyping and evaluation efforts. Most recently, was a Technical Account Manager at Tanium, where I was responsible for supporting the Tanium product at several on-premise and Cloud customers in all aspects of using Tanium. At FedEx I held a variety of positions, including Manager for almost 4 years, and Technical Fellow for 19 years. My experience while at FedEx included leading the development and maintenance of numerous systems, client/server and Java/J2EE development, personnel and program management, vendor evaluations and selection (focusing on application deployment, rules and workflow-based technologies, operations analytics, and endpoint management technologies), contractor management, and support of production systems, giving me a well-rounded perspective to IT development. As a manager, I received excellent ratings from my employees, peer managers, my directors, and customers, and fostered a team and customer oriented approach to projects I was responsible for. I have built highly successful teams from scratch. I have both led and managed several Enterprise wide cross-divisional projects and teams. As a technician, I’ve developed client/server and J2EE systems that adhere to standards, are completed on or ahead of schedule, and have minimal defects, with an eye towards long-term ease of use, maintenance, and reliability.
