Native Connections Program Manager. Working with the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and community organizations we promote healthy and positive lifestyles, goal setting, and assistance in processing feelings/thoughts of suicide ideation for Youth ages 10-24.

In this position, I serve the residents of South Dakota by analyzing current life circumstances and financial capabilities to provide Medicaid services to low-income individuals and their families. I: • Interview and counsel clients to identify available resources.• Obtain records and collect pertinent information to determine eligibility for benefits.• Interpret rules, regulations, and policies to provide proper benefits and services.

Contract management of Montana’s Tribal and Urban Indian tobacco prevention programs in the Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program (MTUPP).• Coordinated "Tuesday Notes", a weekly email newsletter to all MTUPP personnel, contractors, consultants, government officials.• Served as lead communications liaison between the State and Tribal and Urban Indian Tobacco Prevention Specialists.• Provided education and technical assistance to reduce the initiation of tobacco use among American Indian youth, reduce exposure to secondhand smoke, and to reinforce the difference between commercial and ceremonial tobacco. • Coordinated the activities of the Native American Tobacco Work Group (NATWG), by planning and implementing NATWG meetings, conference calls, and other communications.• Ensured that the Native perspective was included in all MTUPP activities by making recommendations in regard to Native American educational needs.

Oversight of daily clinic services operations for a Federally Qualified Health Center with 4 satellite clinics. • Supervised 62 employees and assisted in managing the organization’s budget of over $7 million.• Provided appropriate medical provider and other staff deployment and scheduling, facilitating timely and superior patient care at all 4 locations. • Wrote, obtained, and provided oversight for a $500K grant for integrating mental health services in a primary health care setting for disparate populations.• Recruited medical professionals and verified credentialing, licensure and background checks, and ensured that providers maintained licensure through appropriate continuing education.ensuring satisfactory communication between all departments.• Provided new clinic staff orientation and annual employee training.• Performed quality assurance and improvement duties to ensure compliance with Federal, State, local, and internal regulations.• Prepared quarterly reports and presented results on Center activities to the Executive Director and Advisory Board at monthly board meetings.
