I grew up tinkering and taking apart everything I could find (and could hide from my parents), reading and being fascinated by nature. This led me into math and sciences in school where I found a love for data and analytics. After graduating, I landed what I thought was my dream job in a pharmacology research lab. After a few years, I realized this was a simply a job for me and not a career. Around that time, I serendipitously saw an ad to be a counselor to at-risk you in a wilderness camp, applied and have been in the Social Services industry since!! After a couple of years out in the field, I moved into an HR role and that led me to leadership roles in Risk, Safety, HR and Compliance and have been there for the past 18 years!I love using data to identify areas of improvement and implement process-driven systems, especially when data hasn’t been historically used for that purpose. From reducing risk and loss to developing staff, fully utilizing available data is often under appreciated and under utilized. Outside of work, I spend my free time reading and chasing new experiences, whether that be traveling, trying new foods or experiencing new cultures. When not on the road, you’ll find me on a trail either hiking, running or biking. I love to run (as much as anyone can love that kind of torture) and am trying to convince myself to attempt my first 100 miler.
