Was recognized as a national top performer when the company restructured, allowing me to earn the opportunity to become one of only 17 HR Operations Managers in the country. In this new position I was responsible for overseeing the merger of four districts and all related HR responsibilities. Created and implemented processes that encompassed a department of 85+ HR team members working for the benefit of over 15,000 employees in over 100 locations. Led a team of five managers responsible for Employment, Health &Safety, Compensation, Employee Relations, Communications, Employee Development and Compliance efforts including; ADA, FMLA, EEOC and OFCCP.

Lead a team of part-time and full-time recruiters, HR supervisors and administrative staff that doubled in size during my tenure. Under my leadership the team excelled in all aspects of the employment process, earning the distinction of the “Best HR Department” of 64 in the country. Accomplishments included the development of affirmative action plans; recruiting, hiring and on-boarding of all exempt and non-exempt employees; successful hiring of 1000+ seasonal employees for each holiday season. Worked with two major Union organizations and all related employment issues. Was the change agent during three major corporate restructurings requiring the identification of the most qualified candidates for each position and the associated impact of these downsizings . Rolled out a new benefit programs, conducting educational meetings for all impacted employees across the District. Served as the second-in-command to the HR Manager. Was corporate liaison for the National Urban League and NAACP’s annual events when held in Detroit.

Led and directed a team responsible for the training of all management and hourly employees on all safety related issues. Conducted safety training and ensured DOT compliance of all commercial drivers. Oversaw the random drug testing program. Rolled out a cost allocation program and related management training program that resulted in dramatic reductions in auto crashes and employee injuries. This reduction produced substantial savings and greater employee commitment to safety. Earned top district ranking for injury frequency and top 10 standing for auto frequency throughout the corporation. Created, planned and executed safety challenges, safety rodeos and safety recognition events that resulted in higher employee engagement and demonstrated cost savings.
