Children at this site were mainly on the autism spectrum, but there were also opportunities to assist children with diagnoses including muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, and developmental delays. Requirements at this site included knowledge of basic sign language and proper use of student's AAC and PECs devices, as well as carryover of ABA plans implemented on an individual basis (i.e., token reward systems, positive reinforcers on timed intervals). Responsibilities included carrying a full caseload, daily documentation on district-wide EMR system, implementing and reporting on standardized testing/initial evaluations, progress reporting quarterly, and writing annual IEPs to present at parent meetings.

Conditions of interest included dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, and more. Collaborative research was completed in conjunction with Speech Language Pathology students in order develop and implement effective evaluations and interventions for one child within a neighboring school district. OT and SLP partnerships co-treated and helped to develop one another's treatment plans, and pre/post testing was done in order to determine effectiveness.
