Learned how to operate heavy machinery. Engaged in landscaping tasks such as weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, regrading gravel, planting trees, leaf removal and invasive species removal. Learned specialized skills such as native and invasive plant species ID and landscape design. Worked with other students by engaging in problem solving and active communication.

Helped with various garden tasks such as weeding, prepping beds, planting, harvesting, mulching, and organic pest control. Also assisted leading groups of volunteers in the garden. Engaged in conversations about food insecurity and hunger and developed a meaningful role in the community by providing produce to those in need via the Fairview food pantry and Bounty & Soul. Also worked with children in the garden on Fridays during our Sprouts program. Centered my work around exploring the ways self-compassion may be enriched through gardening, and the emphasis on community and connection within garden spaces. My experience here served as qualitative research for my senior capstone presentation.

Worked mostly independently cleaning short term rental properties. Learned efficient ways of time management to ensure the houses gets cleaned properly before check ins.

Washed dishes, cleaned eating area (wiping tables and sweeping). Learned and executed proper food and healthy safety. Prepped pizzas and prepared sandwiches. Managed salad bar area.
