As a member of the Staff Accountant Team we calculate revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities by reconciling accounts, maintaining accruals and tracking work in process (WIP). Post monthly journal entries and transactions to general ledger; reconcile monthly bank statements for multiple accounts & correct discrepancies. Generate monthly and quarterly reports that display, categorize and analyze cash spent month over month & year over year. Prepare any ad hoc reporting and improvements to reports. Maintain records and reports for all CPA firms and referral sources we work with. Compute monthly accruals for cost of fees and referral sources; reconcile accounts monthly and process invoices to disperse payment. In this role I've gotten to witness and assist in the implementation of company wide ERP system. This included ensuring data integrity for all historical financial and client data and reporting any issues or fixes that need to be made. Since implementation I have also continuously been working with the ERP team to build new financial reporting features, testing these features and providing feedback. In addition, I contribute with overall internal controls and the annual audit by providing proper records and documentation.

My daily responsibilities included multiple processes to initiate and process ACH payments. Based on the process, which ranged from Sales Orders, Agent Commissions, Agent Debits, and Customer Service Credits, I would receive an excel file to verify and manipulate or generate a sales report to initiate a credit or debit for payment and record the cash receipt or payment in Microsoft GP. In addition, I would review and post any invoices received as well as send off for departmental approval to initiate payment. I would generate daily ACH batches to pay vendor invoices for multiple entities. Weekly check runs were executed, I verified addresses for payment, got signatures needed and mailed out checks. On a monthly basis I managed over a dozen employee corporate credit cards. Maintained relationships with the cardholders by reaching out for needed receipts based on credit card statements. Organized, recorded and posted receipts based on cost center and GL account. Throughout the month, I was also responsible for posting bank activity and account reconciliation for multiple entities.

My daily responsibilities were to sort mail and enter checks. I would enter 500 to 1,000 checks manually in IBM AS/400 system each week. Based on over payments, partial payments and credit memos I would post adjustments and journal entries to correct GL accounts. Generated daily sales report to process daily credit card payments using Pay Trace for batches of five to fifty transactions. Released orders from warehouse as long as payment cleared. Maintained relationships with sales reps and their customer accounts. I would contact their customer accounts throughout the month regarding collection and payment of past due invoices.

Main duties were clients that consisted of small businesses such as restaurants, dental/medical offices, construction companies, law offices and dry cleaners. I would process weekly, Bi-weekly, and monthly payroll preparation via check or ACH based on clients payroll distribution. Payment of payroll and quarterly sales taxes for clients. Monthly accounting for these clients consisted of posting all receipts, invoices, and transactions to match bank activity and avoid reconciling items. I also assisted in preparation of individuals' tax returns by inputting their information into system as well as notifying and going over results with the clients. Other general administrative duties included answering the phone, making copies, filing, and greeting clients.
