The Regional Operations Directorate forms part of the frontline service division of the CFS. Regional Operations comprises 60 plus staff, leading, managing and supporting the 13,000 volunteers to deliver community protection to the people of South Australia.The Vison of the SACFS is to deliver a trusted and effective community based fire and emergency service. We do this through 6 Regions that manage the volunteers and service delivery to the community. Region 1 looks after the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Penisula and Kangaroo Island. Region 2 supports the communities of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North and Clare Valley. Region 3 covers the Murray Lands and Riverland in the east of the state. Region 4 covers 66% of South Australias North. Region 5 covers the South East of the state and Region 6 covers the West Coast and the Eyre Peninsula.Being new to the CFS but bringing 24 years experience working with volunteer fire services is exciting and challenging and hopefully a rewarding experience for the CFS and me.

A highly effective senior manager with expertise in providing cohesive operations while focusing on continuous improvement and supporting change targeting capability development and collaboration with aligned agencies

• Manage and lead the delivery of a world-class community-based fire and emergency service, including effective resource allocations and senior reporting.• Monitor and manage the performance of 90 staff and approximately 20,000 volunteers located across the southern area of NSW. • Ensure that the range of services that are provided to Districts within the Region to are planned, developed and coordinated and are consistent with legislative requirements, Service Standards, policies and the NSW RFS corporate plan.• Provide operational direction and leadership to establish and maintain a culture of teamwork, achievement, accountability and a focus on outcomes that meet the needs of the community being served• Foster and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate desired and favourable outcomes.• Lead the Region to respond to significant change resulting from new government policies, changes to the funding model corresponding community expectations, shifts in employment patters and a marked impact caused by population growth.
