Solera presented a great opportunity to utilize my experience as a digital designer, joining a newly formed global marketing team. While at Solera, I collaborated with marketing managers, content manager, copywriter, and a global creative team. I developed multifaceted campaigns, including: content strategy, wireframes, website designs, social media, tradeshow booth graphics, presentation and print materials. Acting as lead designer, I collaborated with our global team developing extensive RFP proposals and designed 200+ page documents and PPT presentations for new business proposals.The Solera brand had an extensive product base (all under different names), but it was the marketing team's challenge to bring them all under one global brand. Our team developed a new global brand standard, templates for the sales team, and a new global website. At Solera, I worked remotely from Washington State, communicating with my team daily through email, chat, phone & text as well as online meetings.

I worked closely with Dr. Fan from her initial concept of Chinestory to build and develop the Chinestory brand. Chinestory is a curriculum teaching Chinese to native English speakers through storytelling. My time teaching English in Japan was incredibly useful in this role because I was readily able to understand the learners journey and frustrations when learning a new language. I used my experience in UX and UI to develop user research, user journey map, wireframes, brand guidelines, asset library, and user interface screens for the app. I utilized my print design and production experience to layout the 150-page storybook and the 30-page picture book for publication. Working with Chinestory was a very rewarding experience and allowed me to combine my love of foreign language and culture, with my love of UX and design.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

At Loomis I worked in a variety of media including print ads, OOH, newspaper, and publication design for clients such as Golden Chick, Fitness Connection, and First United Bank. On the Metro Mattress account, I learned how to design storyboards and motion graphics for TV. I became the lead designer on the Golden Chick Franchisee account. Loomis was a concept-to-production role, so I was involved in all stages of the process. I also had the opportunity to lead the design of several RFP kits. I got to unleash my creativity and roll with a theme for the book publication and packaging.

Teaching ESL (English as a second language) has been both challenging and very rewarding. Though it may seem indirectly related to Design, I utilized many of my design skills on a daily basis to plan creative and engaging lessons. I taught 20-40 high school students per lesson, 20 lessons per week. The students speak varying levels of English. I have learned how to quickly adapt, change, and engage students in my lessons. These skills easily transition to advertising and design. Beyond the classroom, I have learned so much about communication and how important cultural contexts are in Advertising. I believe that such skills are a valuable asset, and by living and working in a foreign country I have experienced many wonderful and challenging things which will help me in my career.

Tasked with organizing and metadata-tagging thousands of assets in 12+ languages for clients such as HP and AMD, for 25,000 worldwide users. Worked closely and communicated with Project Managers, Client Services, and the Studio to consistently meet deadlines. Troubleshoot with the Application Support team to problem-solve new software and discover best practices. Track rights-managed photography and pull or renew once contracts expire. Photograph and file print samples from vendors, re-touch photos, and add to the internal digital library. Quickly learned and utilized to build clean InDesign mechanicals, get Photoshop and Illustrator files ready for digital deployment, as well as stock image art buying. Designed many emails, web banners and brochures.
