Graduate Research Student, Bioanalytical Research; lab-on-chip microfluidic device design and fabrication for use as total analysis devices for proteins and nucleic acids as biomarkers using immunoassays for amplified detection and polymerase amplification for quantitative nucleic acid detection. Development and optimization of nucleic acid extraction techniques focused towards miRNA isolation. Extensive work on the discovery and quantitation of unique circulating biomarkers in serum using various separation methods, microfluidics, SPE, ELISA, immunoassays/ immuno-precipitation, LC-MS and RT-qPCR. Surface chemistry development and optimization. Nanomaterial fabrication including synthesis of nanocrystals, nanoparticles and electrospinning of nanofibers. Optimization of cation-exchange methods involving single nanocrystals andnanocrystal clusters for signal amplification. Fabrication employing 3D printing Technology, UV curing Resins, and 3D design/ Basic CAD experience including use of Solidworks, TinkerCAD, and SketchUp, etc.
