Ken Murphy offers a unique blend of extensive experience and perspective as a senior corporate leader with award-winning creative achievement in screenwriting, directing and film production.Ken's most recent corporate position was that of SVP for Human Resources and Administration with the Altria Group. He has served as a professional coach and advisor to four CEO’s and over thirty “C” level senior executives, working closely with the Board of Directors for Altria Group on executive compensation and global succession planning.Creatively, Ken has written & directed short films (DECEMBER THAW, INTERMEZZO), and penned two feature-length screenplays (FIRE ON THE BEACH and JURY RIG). Ken produced the short film FIRST MATCH, which premiered at the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center. Ken is a former winner of the HBO FILMS Young Producer’s Development Award for FIRST MATCH. Ken's screenplay FIRE ON THE BEACH was awarded Faculty Honors at the 2012 Columbia University Film Festival. Ken also wrote and directed the award-winning short REACHING HOME starring Debra Monk, which screened at over twenty-five festivals. Ken also directed a film for the NYC Sonnet Project. Ken's current writing project, a Maine-based feature also titled REACHING HOME, recently received recognition at the Austin Film Festival. Ken also recently produced a short documentary about the restoration of CIRRUS, a 1930 Herreshoff Fishers Island 31 yawl.Ken currently serves on the Human Resources Committee of Mystic Seaport Museum, the Film Committee of Fairfield Theatre Company, and is a former Board Member of the Roundabout Theatre Company.Ken has a B.S., ILR from Cornell University, and an MFA in Film from Columbia University. Ken has lectured at Fordham University, Columbia University, and Canyon Ranch (Tucson).
