I work on a variety of water treatment and mining related projects. I have designed various earthworks projects, including ponds, constructed wetlands, and various site gradings. I have extensive experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for earthworks design, as well as AutoCAD Plant 3D for production of process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams for water treatment systems. I have also completed mine closure and reclamation liability cost estimates, and taken part in reclamation and treatment technology evaluation and trade-off studies. I'm lisensed as a Professional Engineer in six jurisdictions across Canada (Ont, Sask, BC, YT, NWT & NU, and Nfld).

Worked on a variety of projects in a range of fields. Examples include assisting in the operations and maintenance of a hazardous waste landfill, design of landfill gas barrier systems, assisting in the management and tracking of reports for, and responses to comments from, regulatory bodies for a major brownfield redevelopment project, conceptual design of risk mitigation measures for new development which includes extensive use of AutoCAD, and groundwater sample collection and sample result data analysis, pilot water treatment plant operation, assisting in the design of passive remediation systems and wetland construction.

-Conducted flood modeling for a new highway which included ditch sizing and culvert selection.-Participated in the annual geotechnical investigation of the dams and spillways at a historic mine site. Ongoing project involvement includes technical liaison with the local field inspector and preparation of various inspection reports.

-Performed an environmental audit of a mining exploration camp and provided recommendations for improving both health and safety and environmental compliance.-Investigated potential mine tailings and waste rock storage locations at a scoping level for a proposed mine in the Klondike region.-Significant involvement in the planning and execution of a field program to investigate the lakebed of a contaminated lake for the purposes of designing a containment dam for tailings storage. Performed geotechnical modeling of conceptual dam for stability and seepage.-Preparation of a mine closure plan for a historical mine site.-Co-ordinated a large environmental monitoring program in remote Arctic Canada. Executed a sampling program of soil and water samples as well as examination of thermal data recovered from data loggers and report on the results. Responsible for assembling numerous inspection reports and integrating input from entire field team.-Participated in the annual geotechnical investigation of the dams and spillways at a historic mine site. -Developed and implemented a detailed inventory database for field and laboratory equipment with the intent of ensuring supply, controlling costs, and improving warehouse efficiency.-Consolidated shipments of field and laboratory equipment including packaging of dangerous goods for shipment to site.-Selection and procurement of materials and equipment to support the environmental programs underway in the Canadian Arctic.-Provided leadership to a four-member team that supplied scientific support for the environmental clean up of a DEW Line radar station in Arctic Canada. -Organized and conducted the collection of samples of soil, water, and fuels as well as laboratory analysis to determine type and level of contamination. -Supervised the drilling and construction of monitoring wells.-Entered collected data into a database for QA/QC statistical analysis, made decisions on the results and reported to Defence Construction Canada on findings. -Solved problems that arose from unforeseen contamination and issues with construction of disposal facilities.-Collected samples of soil, water, fuels, and conducted laboratory analysis to determine type and level of contamination. -Developed remediation plan for newly found contamination areas. -Updated and entered information into AutoCAD drawings of the site.
