Performed a number of duties covered by the blanket job title. Including, but not limited to: Cashiering and smaller tasks, like assisting customers with item location and redirecting inquiries; Corralling carts and janitorial duties; Maintenance of self-serve checkouts and assisting customers with the use of the self-serve checkouts; Fronting merchandise, returning misplaced items, and assisting the grocery department with stocking the aisles; Sale of cigarettes, baby formula, and the sale and redemption of lottery tickets. Processing refunds and returns. Distribution of money orders and the payment of customers' utility bills. Generally resolving more complicated customer issues and inquiries; Management of personnel across the Front-End. Including breaks, placement, issues, and inquiries. Balancing the enforcement of managerial and corporate policy with the interests of employees and customers. Responsibility for observation, and transport of funds from Front-End departments to the cash office. Acted as the primary contact for emergency services when needed at the store; Managed movement of customers throughout the front end during the COVID-19 pandemic.
