👋🏼 Hi, I'm Kevin McCarthy, a 2nd Year Cybersecurity Student @ RIT.📍Based out of New Haven, CT, currently living in Rochester, NY, for school.🎨 I'm an active member of RIT clubs including RITSEC and Rock Climbing Club.💻 What are you currently doing?Outside of being a full-time student in the middle of their search for a job, I'm actively focused on learning more about building blue-team infastructure, digital forensics, and incident response tools, frameworks, and roles. Additionally, I'm in the planning stage of developing my own red team tool.🛠️ What is your current experience?I have a working knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Unix/Linux, and pfSense.Additionally I actively use VMware, Wireshark, Firewalls, Active Directory, Git, Metasploit, Nmap, and Data Dog within the projects and classes I'm currently involved in.🙂 Any personal takeaways?Overall, I enjoy working with others as I learn more about concepts used in my field. Collaboration has been a large part of my development for the future, as I've become an active mentee to further my skills. Building my foundational knowledge has caused me to become heavily driven, yearning for a deeper understanding as to what cybersecurity has to offer.
