Serving in a Principal Solution Manager / Information Architect role on contract at Microsoft: Assess new initiatives and proposed business changes in Enterprise Services to develop end-to-end requirements, design solution options, determine impact to existing processes and systems, and identify issues and risks. Define and document business requirements; translate same into system specifications, including functional specifications/user stories, acceptance criteria, UX/workflow designs, Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models (CDM/LDM/PDM), data dictionaries, and readiness/adoption documentation. Perform data profiling and analysis; create and maintain business process, logical-to-physical, Source-to-Target and inter-system data lineage mappings / data flow diagrams. - Successfully led the fiscal-year changeover migration for 40+ taxonomy sets associated to Enterprise Services’ catalog items, including coordination of changes with other systems such as SAP, to ensure accurate revenue recognition, cost allocation, capacity planning and delivery scheduling, and maintain business continuity during and after major restructuring of the delivery organization.- Designed automated, catalog-driven solution for determining services eligible to be exchanged for those on existing contracts per program rules; coordinated implementation and adoption with all involved processes, systems and stakeholders. Expected annual operations cost reduction of $5.3M+.- Elicited requirements and designed new catalog capabilities to retire multiple manually-maintained item lists used to drive usage in downstream tools; estimated business cost reduction of $2.5M annually.- Helped build and lead a new IA organizational capability/practice by providing leadership, mentoring and subject matter expertise to new team members.
