St. Vincent de Paul Housing Facilities has been helping individuals and families in Newark, Ohio since 2010. There are currently two housing facilities, The Haven and The Gardens on 6th Street. The organization is run by a volunteer board of directors, led by President Kevin Murphy.The Haven, a 26 bed men's shelter, opened in 2010 and has provided over 50,000 nights of service consisting of a home cooked meal and a clean warm safe bed to sleep in and counseling and supportive services. We are predominantly privately funded using only 2-3% government support. We have recently opened 24 individual apartments for a transitional living program at The Gardens on 6th Street.
