Coordinate the creation and analysis of land cover, impervious surface, and canopy closure for the 2020 Georgia Land Use Trends project.

- Coordinated the creation of land cover, impervious surface, and canopy closure for the Georgia Land Use Trends project (2005, 2008, and 2015).- Developed a wetland restoration and wetland health spatial analysis model covering the state of Georgia. Created an ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Server map application for the analysis of the model results.- Identified and prioritized the best sites for wetland protection, mitigation, restoration, and migration along the Georgia Coast, considering potential future land use change and the impacts of sea level rise.- Developed an ArcMap and Python based system to physically characterize a watershed, evaluate water quality, and identify sources of impairment for Georgia EPD. - Developed a model to identify and prioritize the locations for stormwater interventions that can be used to minimize stormwater impacts to already TMDL-listed streams within the boundaries of the City of Sandy Springs. High resolution datasets were developed from LIDAR and integrated with existing stormwater infrastructure to identify areas with high surface flows.- Updated and consolidated the Georgia Conservation Lands Database (2012) to the requirements and specifications of the USGS PAD-US project. Data included in PAD-US 1.3 release.- Created and maintained, in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, SDE geo-databases for the ongoing maintenance of the Georgia Conservation Lands Database.- Developed datasets and methodology for the implementation of Georgia Pacific’s conservation plan to protect and avoid environmentally sensitive and biodiverse areas from harvest.- Created future projections of impervious surface and population density for the implementation of Georgia’s Comprehensive Statewide Water Management Planning Act and for Georgia EPD.- Provide GIS and IT related maintenance and support.- Supervised and assisted graduate students and hourly assistants.

- Coordinated the creation of statistical training datasets for the creation of impervious surface and tree canopy coverage dataset for the Southeastern United States in cooperation with the USGS NLCD 2001 program.- Created land cover detailing ecological forest communities for the Southeastern United States for the Southeastern GAP Analysis Program. - Coordinated the creation of an impervious surface and tree canopy coverage dataset for the southeastern United States for 1991 to monitor changes in tree and vegetation canopy loss in major metropolitan areas.- Provide maintenance and security for over twenty workstations, license servers, web servers, and file servers. GIS and supporting software are regularly upgraded and patched for security and usability. Multiple terabytes of geographic data and databases are organized and maintained including regular backups and snapshots.

- Created land cover and land use databases for the Georgia Land Use Trends project, which will be used to analyze and explore the changing landscape ecology of Georgia.- Designed and completed accuracy assessments of the GLUT land cover maps, as well as the accuracy assessment of the Georgia GAP Analysis land cover map using archived aerial photography and high resolution aerial videography.- Created land cover and managed high resolution aerial photography for the Southeastern GAP Analysis Program in cooperation with the USGS NLCD 2001 program.

- Worked with others in creating and analyzing land cover maps of GA from multiple time periods, employing digital orthophotos, TM, MSS data, and various GIS layers and satellite imagery, resulting in a forty-class base map for 1998.- Assessed overall accuracy of land cover maps, extensively utilizing low altitude aerial videography, field work, and color infrared orthophotography.
