My practice focuses on complex civil litigation with a special emphasis on business disputes and commercial real estate matters. I frequently represent clients in high-stakes litigation concerning the ownership, control, and management of companies, property, and other assets.I have obtained emergency injunctive relief for my clients, won numerous favorable rulings at the initial pleadings and summary judgment stages of litigation, and have secured judgments and awards in my clients’ favor at trial, on appeal, and in arbitration.I have extensive litigation experience in state and federal court. My experience includes corporate control fights, business breakups, derivative shareholder lawsuits, fiduciary duty disputes, declaratory judgment actions, fraud and tortious interference claims, conversion actions, contract disputes, and trade secrets and intellectual property matters. I also have substantial appellate experience and have won appeals in the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.I also maintain a business law and real estate transactional practice. I counsel clients in connection with the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and management of real estate assets; the purchase and sale of businesses; the formation of business organizations; and the negotiation, interpretation, and implementation of articles of incorporation, corporate bylaws, and limited liability company (LLC) and partnership agreements.I am also experienced in business and financial matters. I have experience advising corporate executives regarding the management, financing, and operation of business interests. Outside of the legal practice, I am an investor in a digital publishing company that produces content focused on television and travel, acquires other digital publishers through leveraged buyouts, and reaches an audience of more than 10 million monthly consumers.Prior to joining BBS&G, I served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert G. James, then-Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
