The process, a public-private partnership approach, included determining eligibility and suitability of the Eightmile River as a Wild & Scenic River, determining outstanding natural and cultural resource values, acting as the National Park Service spokesperson when engaging communities on the study, and being primary author on the Eightmile River Watershed Management Plan. In addition, was Project Leader for a National Scenic Trail Study of the Connecticut section of the Metacomet Monadnock Mattabesett Trail System, now called the New England National Scenic Trail. Led efforts regarding identifying outstanding values and management issues, coordinating community engagement and participated in drafting management blueprint for the trail system. -
Executive DirectorFarmington River Watershed Association 1997 - 2002Simsbury, CtLed established river protection organization dedicated to the long-term health of the 81-mile Farmington River and its 600 square mile watershed. Identified and implemented strategies to promote balanced uses of a river with significant water supply, boating and angling demands.
