Kevin Cox Email and Phone Number
A veteran hospitality operator and entrepreneur, Kevin has opened 70+ restaurants within the urban and suburban markets of New York, Los Angeles, and New Jersey. Following a three-year stint working in commercial real estate, Kevin found his home in the hospitality industry. He joined Umami Burger to open their second location. Within 18 months, Umami had ten units, as well as; LA’s first nouveau “Food Hall” Umamicatessen, multiple Umami-branded CPG products, the first 800 Degrees Pizza (now a nationwide chain), and the infamous Red Medicine in Beverly Hills. The Umami Burger Group was acquired by SBE Holdings. Invigorated by the opportunity to recreate Umami’s success, Kevin partnered with The Clarke’s Group in NYC, to expand the footprint of their flagship brand PJ Clarke’s, and launch a QSR off-shoot. He led the acquisition and repositioning of the 6-unit Goodburger chain into Clarke’s Standard. During the process of another brand repositioning deal, he conceived what would be his next venture, xtraCHEF, a software tool that aggregates real-time purchase data for multi-unit restaurant groups, which was the first to market in the FOOD TECH sector. After partnering with an NJ-based OCR firm, a multi-city beta, and onboarding hundreds of customers within a few months of launching, the product gained national attention. xtraCHEF was acquired by TOAST, Inc. (NYSE: TOST). In recent years, Kevin has focused on his consulting business, working with a robust roster of clients both domestic and international, including Neat Burger, Brother Jimmy’s BBQ Group, Plan Check Restaurants, The Wine Bar Group, and Atlantic Stars Hospitality. With MHG, he led the development/acquisitions of numerous brands: Ani Ramen House, pastaRAMEN, Kai Yang, Mochinut, RCPC, Bang Bang Chicken, and multiple JV's with Sushi by Bou and Mochinut. Outside of restaurants, Kevin started the art and marketing platform Good Luck Dry Cleaners, featured in Fast Company and Inc. Magazine.
