Since 2002, Alertus has dedicated itself to creating emergency mass notification solutions that can be implemented anywhere and activated quickly and effectively. This commitment has led Alertus to be the industry leader in emergency mass notification technologies for the last decade.The Alertus System has been implemented worldwide by more than 2,000 organizations in multiple industries for a number of emergency situations. These include armed shooter incidents, bomb threats, weather-related events, terrorist threats, chemical spills, and a number of other emergency conditions.Alertus serves all sectors including higher education, K-12, industrial, corporate, industrial/manufacturing, transportation, healthcare, local and federal government, and military sectors.

- Provided support and counseling to students regarding the financial aid process from start to finish via in-person meetings, phone calls and emails- Served as a member of the Special Circumstances/Professional Judgement Committee to ensure students received the appropriate amount of Title IV aid- Utilized Department of Education systems, such as NSLDS, COD and FAA Access, as necessary to review student accounts and provide resolutions to eligibility issues- Processed verification reviews, investigated conflicting information and sent ISIR corrections to ensure student EFCs were calculated properly and students received the correct Title IV award- Completed weekly reports: verification, bankruptcy, unusual enrollment history, Pell Grant repackage, loan proration, loan adjustment and disbursement status/issues- Packaged and awarded students, using PeopleSoft, while following Department of Education annual and aggregate Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loan limit guidelines

- Provided exceptional support to media, students and alumni who call the media relations line, and escalate urgent inquiries to the appropriate staff- Created and distributed a weekly, university-wide newsletter highlighting the most prominent media placements of the week- Managed the transition from former to current media monitoring vendor to ensure a successful conversion of data from one platform to the other- Tracked media placements and prepared detailed monthly and annual media monitoring reports to access outreach and department goals- Managed petty cash for the communications department and produced expense reports for the director of public relations and assistant vice president for communications- Established student interns’ schedules and oversaw their day-to-day responsibilities

- Conducted research on current and potential clients for client proposals- Monitored and compiled daily media clips for several clients throughout numerous industries- Researched media contacts, created media lists and completed media pitch calls for various international clients to secure earned media placements

- Created and managed social media platforms to engage with publics and further online presence- Marketed the Chesapeake Bay Foundation Speakers Bureau and contacted interested organizations to increase awareness of the health of the Bay- Researched and compiled influential news and media lists, which were made accessible to the communications department
