About Kip Watson

As the Director of Business Research at Charleston County Economic Development I handle real estate, demographic, economic, and business intelligence data. I work with a variety of sources to compile, analyze, and distribute data to internal and external stakeholders in our region. My main goal is to facilitate the growth of high-quality jobs in Charleston County. I have recently completed my Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Charleston, SC at College of Charleston. I love working within the Lowcountry to promote and empower people and businesses to thrive. My studies focused mainly on local economic development strategies. I also have a strong professional background as a Policy Analyst experienced in Asset Management, Public Safety, Public Health, Budgeting, Veterans' Affairs, Social Media, and Microsoft Office Suite. I sharpened my skills through education, both in the classroom and community, and am excited to jump into the economic development world through non-profit and public/private collaboration.
