I am studying mental counseling at the University of Pennsylvania, where I intend to receive my Master's degree in professional counseling. I plan to expand my exposure to diverse methodologies and populations and gain further understanding of how counseling experiences and analytical processes can be best combined to make meaningful and useful contributions to mental health care in the United States, with a specific focus on trying to improve mental health outcomes in the South Asian population. I want to gain exposure to different methods of solving and reducing the stigma around mental health issues and be part of the discussion of increasing mental health and clinical services in underserved populations. I aim to work to help people who deal with mental health conditions and hope to help improve societal mental health through personal clinical work and community outreach.
