Kalyan is an experienced strategy, innovation and commercialisation specialist with a demonstrated history of working, primarily, in the Aerospace and Defence Sector. After completing his MSc (dual major in Engineering and Business) at University of Leeds. He held various Engineering, Research, Middle and Top management roles over last 21 years. During this period, he was also awarded a PhD in Textile Composites by Loughborough University. Kalyan is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He also holds APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ). Kalyan was a selected participant in 2013 South West Crucible programme, designed to train next generation of research leaders.In his Strategy & Business development, Innovation Management and Commercialisation roles over 10 years, Kalyan has overseen a portfolio of over £75M of research and over £50M commercial projects. He led technical proposal preparation and commercial bidding for Commercial Aerospace products. Kalyan is well connected with Government Departments, OEM and Supply Chain Companies, Universities and Research organisations in the UK, Europe, North America and other parts of Asia.In his Technical Leadership role over 15 years, Kalyan created new product development routes with companies ranging from spinouts to very large multinational. As Postdoctoral Materials and Process specialist he spent 5 years in world-leading Bristol Composites Institute at University of Bristol, delivering key projects. Also, in his early year roles at the world-leading National Composites Centre at Bristol, Kalyan led over 15 fast-paced projects on ground-breaking product solutions.Kalyan enjoys travel, badminton, yoga, pilates, cooking and relaxes with music from different parts of the world. He lives in Gloucestershire with his wife and his son is currently studying at the University. Kalyan has an active interest in personal development, mindfulness and well-being. He also supports Learned Society and Charity events in his free time.
