Tunbridge Wells Kent

I returned to WA Turner, ABP Tunbridge Wells as Engineering Manager, managining 17 engineering staff and controlling labour, and maintenance budgets. Compiling costs and managing Capital Expenditure projects along with the specification, pocurement and installation of new machinery and production lines. During this period we made a lot of changes to staff, and we developed staff internally along with hiring new engineers and developing line staff into multi-skilled roles. We also developed the site which led to greater business and WA Turner can produce over 600Tons of retail product every week with ease.

Engineering Manager, responsible for the entire maintenance of a beef processing site, here we kill 800 cattle a week and bone over 1000. Since my arrival I have implemented a Planned Preventative Maintenance system and started and completed over £1,000,000 of projects, Including the installation of a complete refrigeration system (gylcol over ammonia), which involved civil and structural work around the site along with the mechanical installation of the plant.

Wa Turner, Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Engineering Supervisor, responsible for my own team in a very busy convenience food plant, this included hiring and firing, At the time WA Turner produced over 180 tons of sausages and 60 tons of pies per week. During this time I implemented a continuous improvement program throughout my department and generated costings for its future development, I also introduced some modern solutions to the older pieces of equipment by changing out variable speed drives for inverters etc. During my time in Turners we won major business producing top end products, this was mainly due to the improvements made to the machinery and the consistency of product we could produce.

ABP Scotland: Project Manager and engineering supervisor for the building of a new packing area, also over saw some refrigeration upgrades and the building of a new workshop and stores for the engineering department, I ran these jobs from taking in quotes and putting forward CapExs for approval up to their completion. ABP Scotland kills and bones 1500 cattle a week Site: ABP Shrewsbury: Responsibility: Project Manager and engineering supervisor for the installation of a complete Ammonia and Glycol refrigeration system, ABP Shrewsbury kills and bones 2000 cattle a week and produces over 100 tons of retail products, during this entire project not one day of production was effected, liaising between contractors and production we installed all new coolers and packs, refurbished the plant room and built a new compressed air plant room. The entire project ran for 10 months and cost in the excess of £1.8 million.
