Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, serve as part of the Office of Academic Advising leadership team providing direction for the unit and its initiatives. Lead and coordinate first-year advising and health advising programs. Oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of 8 professional staff and 13 peer advisors, as well as graduate assistantships, graduate internships, and undergraduate internships.First-Year Advising: Responsible for the leadership and coordination of first-year academic advising programs, with a focus on student retention. Lead first-year advisors (4 advisors) in the development and implementation of advising programming for students exploring majors and students declared in identified majors. Implement the values of social equity, relationship-building, and student support towards degree attainment. Health Advising:Provide leadership for the university's new health advising initiative, implemented in 2023. Lead the health advising team (4 academic advisors) and develop intentional advising programming to support students pursuing undergraduate and graduate pre-professional health pathways. New Student Orientation:Coordinate and implement New Student Orientation programming through campus-wide collaboration. Oversee advising operations at each New Student Orientation session, serving over 2,000 students each summer.

Served as Interim Director during permanent Director's one-year leave of absence. Reporting to the Executive Director of Undergraduate Studies, responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the Office of Academic Advising - an office serving undergraduate students with an emphasis on students in transition. Provided leadership promoting and supporting academic advising campuswide at UNI, with a focus on directing programming for new students and students in transition. Lead academic advising planning and coordination at New Student Orientation. Directed, trained, and evaluated a team of 7 professional advisors, 1 assistant director, and 1 administrative professional.Oversight over three programs: (1) Panther Access, Connection, and Engagement (PACE) program, a college transition program focused on supporting low-income, first-generation, and/or students of color, (2) Peer Advising, and (3) Success Coaching for students on academic alert or probation.

Reported to the Director of Advising and Student Transitions, responsible for the implementation, oversight, and assessment of the on-campus and on-line Advising and Registration Programs for 2,000+ incoming first-year, transfer, and international students, responsible for supervision of professional advisors, faculty advisors, and student advisors, budget oversight, and cultivating partnerships between campus offices; direct the advising and orientation process for Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) students; advise first-year and deciding students; implement retention programming for degree-seeking students; supervise professional staff, graduate assistants, and student workers; and serve on the Advising and Student Transitions Leadership Team.

Teach one section of SHHS 111, a course designed to introduce students to programs and career paths related to majors offered through the School of Health and Human Services. Address topics such as academic and career planning,exploration of interests, values, and professional goals, and experiential learning, while collaborating with faculty to expose students to a range of applicable career paths. Develop assignments and facilitate discussions designed to engage students in critical thinking related to applicable academic programs and career goals

Reported to Dean of the School of Health and Human Services (SHHS), responsible for oversight of recruitment and retention efforts within SHHS, serving over 2,400 undergraduate and graduate students. Responsibilities include creation and implementation of recruitment plan for transfer students; implementation of retention programming, such as living-learning communities and group advising for upperclassmen; educating students and faculty on university policies and procedures; managing outreach efforts to students who have been identified as at-risk and providing intervention; assessing the needs of students within academic programs and developing strategies with faculty to address concerns; and serving as the liaison for prospective, new entering, and current freshmen, transfer, international and returning students through a range of in-person and online academic counseling and support strategies.

Reported to Director of Academic Advising, responsible for advising caseload of 220+ current and incoming transfer students in the School of Education (SOE) on major and general education requirements. Develop academic plans with student to ensure timely graduation. Implemented programming specific to incoming sophomore in the SOE to assist in their transition into the SOE. Counsel students who do not meet SOE academic requirements on alternative academic plans. Provide leadership on various committees, including chairing the Candidate Review Team, which coordinating assessment of teaching candidates in the SOE, and trained new faculty advisors on curriculum requirements and advising techniques.

Reported to Director of Academic Advising, responsible for advising caseload of 40 traditionally-aged freshman students on their academic interests and career goals. Collaborate with students to develop an action plan to reach their academic, career, and personal goals. Interpreted Academic Alert Notices and work with at-risk students to ensure continuing academic progress. Contributed to the departmental implementation and assessment of the new general education curriculum.

Reported to Volunteer Coordinator, responsible for processing Schools of Hope tutor application materials, maintaining Schools of Hope active tutor database, updating monthly tutor rosters to ensure accuracy of tutors working in local schools, and maintaining hard files of current and previous tutor application materials

Reported to Assistant Dean of the College of Letters and Science, responsible for organization and preparation of student files for distribution to Deans for appointments. Coordinated main reception area, which supports over 17,000 students in the College of Letters and Science. Interpreted student and parent requests, providing accurate information or making referrals to appropriate office. Responsible for independent projects as required, including working individually with Deans to improve the quality of student services.
