Critical Facilities Technician
CurrentAt Ascent, I support the operation and management of a data center through field coordination, supervision, and project management.Key Responsibilities: * Assist in managing mission-critical equipment and integrating systems for life safety, mechanical, plumbing, and power-related activities. * Report discrepancies and trends to managers, operations teams, and clients. * Manage preventative and emergency maintenance schedules, ensuring inventory needs for critical systems. * Oversee maintenance schedules and providers, offering 24x7 on-call support. * Update standard practices for data center operations and equipment, ensuring consistency. * Coordinate subcontractors for proper equipment installation and maintenance services. * Troubleshoot emergencies, equipment problems, and technical issues, organizing resolutions. * Provide ongoing technical support and vendor management. * Complete daily inspections and maintenance tasks, including filter changes, generator tests, and UPS/ATS/STS transfer tests.I provide field technical support for redundancy, reliability, and maintainability, focusing on current needs and long-term objectives. My primary focus is on achieving high uptime (99.9999%) and cost-saving opportunities, supported by Ascent’s Corporate Engineering group.Additionally, I assist in developing and implementing Ascent’s Change Control Program, creating MOP, SOP, and ERP documentation. I help administer Critical Facility Work Rules, onboard vendors, conduct safety inspections, and adhere to Ascent safety policies. I also manage spare parts, develop reporting strategies, and contribute to the Life Cycle Replacement Strategy.Through my role, I am dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safety, availability, and client satisfaction while continuously seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement.
