Working for a major Canadian stock photography library, the role involved the quality assurance testing of the organization’s web applications that supported online revenue generation through image licensing. The core focus of the role was the functional and regression testing of enhancements and fixes to search features on the multi-regional, multilingual, high volume e-commerce enabled website. Working under sometimes tight or shifting deadlines to allow complex projects to be thoroughly tested and reach their planned deployment windows was integral to the role.Collaborated with and supported developers focused on improvements to web search results utilizing machine learning algorithms and data mining of website search actions to provide features such as search suggestions to clients.

Additional valuable experience gained working independently with little supervision while managing remote client relationships across global time zones. Contracted exclusively by Masterfile to provide web based remote testing services on their corporate website and internal business (keyword/metadata) related web applications.

Project based position which was focused on mapping data from existing flat keyword lexicon housed in a legacy Microsoft FoxPro system to a new multilingual hierarchical lexicon in an outsourced custom built .Net web application. Position involved the adaptation and validation of existing content in the purchased system which handled image metadata mapping.

Working for a dynamic start-up, the position managed remote database of 10,000+ online pet products linked to 17 retail partner sites. The role was responsible for the timely addition and removal of products, liaising with retail partners, image correction, sales performance monitoring, data testing and validation. Updating marketing images and text in PHP and HTML files.

Worked with a cross departmental team of keyworders, managers, developers and contract translators, this role coordinated the re-working of the core website search engine utilized by both external customers and internal staff. Supported the development of an English keyword lexicon and keyword translation into French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. Managed outsourced keyword translation files and was responsible for validation and correction of returned keyword data. Responsible for ensuring the multilingual keyword metadata and web search engines delivered the correct results in support of a stock photography image bank of over one million unique images.

Acted as the primary liaison and business analyst between the internal keywording (metadata creation team) and web development teams. Responsible for coordinating, project scoping, data testing, website testing, researching and preparing project statements. As a key project team member, assisted in the planning and creation of a six language keyword translation database built on SQL.

Responsible for overseeing the keywording team as we created a set of unique metadata tags in order to categorize images scanned into the content library. The resultant system utilized image associated descriptive keywords to allow the internal image research team to locate and deliver images to clients in support of the overall sales process. The role was responsible for managing a team of six employees, and the human resources tasks of hiring, training, mentoring, performance evaluations and overall team effectiveness. The role was also responsible for creating and maintained keywording policies and procedures.
