While focusing on obtaining my degree at The University of St. Thomas I discovered a strong interest in Environmental Psychology. Through researching, I also found that Environmental psychology and interior design are tightly intertwined. Driving me to explore design deeper, I decided to attend The Art Institute of Houston where I obtained my Interior Design Degree. I am passionate about studying human behavior and the built environment. My design goals are focused on creating safe and functional solutions derived from a foundation based on studies and research. My education goals include working to become Evidence Based Design Certified and ADA Design Certified. I also hope to become an active part of many research opportunities within the Interior Design profession. Last year I attended the Environments for Aging Conference and have found a new appreciation for designing for Seniors. I look forward to this years conference and exploring more in that area of design. I greatly enjoy the technical side of design and would love and opportunirty to gain Life Safety Codes and other Legal Education regarding maintaing Code enforcement in Interior Design.
