Horticultural procurement and logistical support for public horticulture and designers with seasonal plantings, sales, special events, and capital expansion projects. Responsible for production of all plant material for display, collections, and sales within 2 production greenhouses, a display greenhouse, nursery, and dormancy cooler. Established and carried out all in-house production schedules for annual, perennial, woody, tropical, and aquatic material. Collaborated with external contract grower for production needs beyond on site capacity. Organized seed bank, collected and processed wild seed, established seeding and dormancy protocol, and sowed seed. Procured all plants and hard goods needed for sales and display including media, containers, pre finished plants, liners, bulbs, and seeds from a variety of vendors.

Operated a one-acre, multiple site farm operation. Ordered seed, developed detailed sowing, planting, and harvesting schedules in Excel. Produced a variety of vegetable crops and small meats. Served 2 rural markets throughout the summer, supplied local grocery store with produce, and managed 15 member CSA program. Collaborated with local school district and Non-Profit organizations to establish Community Commercial Kitchen toured and reviewed by USDA to serve as a model for rural communities. Produced a signature Jalapeno Jelly sold in 12 storefronts and a restaurant. Presented and taught a variety of topics at the invitation of Master Gardeners, State Fair, and Native American Tribal Colleges. Farm and products highlighted in local television specials.

Faculty in the Department of Plant Science, College of Ag. Developed and taught traditional and hybrid courses to undergraduates, graduate, and continuing education students. Course development included course and lab scheduling, content, assessment tools, and student evaluation. Proficient in new course development, one developed minimally every semester. Course examples included Biology of Horticulture, Greenhouse Production, Plant Propagation, Woody and Herbaceous ID, and Professionalism in Horticulture. Developed Local Foods program major and curriculum and led 25 member research and development team to establish a new university Local Foods Education Center. Developed and taught all lab sections with hands-on components. Initiated and coordinated first hybrid online/on site modular courses combining traditional students with external informal education students. Advised students on program management, course selection and career seeking. Evaluated and conducted performance reviews for student internships.Established and directed first SDSU Student Farm Spring of 2013. Broke ground, established irrigation, planted, harvested, packaged and disseminated a 10 member CSA vegetable program in year one. Successfully wrote and received small grants to fund initiative and summer salary.Faculty Development and Leadership Committee Chair 2013-2015, Vice Chair 2011-2012. Chair of subcommittee on university mentoring program. Non-voting member on several graduate student advisory committees. Advisor for SDSU Horticulture Club. Liaison for Brookings Area Master Gardeners. Horticulture delegate for numerous outreach and recruitment activities.
