Responsible for total finance function of this startup business focused on providing software and hardware solutions in the Smart Grid business sector. Current focus on confirming the strategy/business plan, and executing building the plan. E3 Greentech Enterprises assets sold to Intelligent Energy Solutions, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company.

CFO Partner with firm providing Interim and permanent CFO services to a broad range of industries and companies in transition. Assisted in Business Development as well as served as interim/permanent CFO at Gexa Energy, Globeleq, and Indianapolis Power & Light Company.

Responsible for total finance function of this vertically integrated utility (owned by AES and operated independently) with assets of $2.8 billion, revenues in excess of $1 billion, operating 3,600 MW of generating capacity, 3,000 miles of transmission/distribution, 470,000 retail customers, and is a ‘public filer’ of financial statements to the SEC as it issues public debt. Also responsible for new supply project development and took on the role of Chief Risk Officer.

Responsible for total finance, tax, IT and administrative functions of this international electric power company (owned by a UK private equity fund) with revenues in excess of $700 million, owning equity interests in 3,000 MW of generation projects in emerging markets of Latin America, Africa, and Asia and power distribution in Uganda. Completed the full ‘private equity cycle’ of taking the company from its early growth phase to the ‘value event’ as a trade sale.

Led the business leadership team and finance function through recovery from material weakness in internal controls in preparation of financial reports of this NASDAQ listed mid-market retail electric power retail provider. Managed process for recovery including review of accounting system and operations, preparation of revised financial reports (10-K and 10-Q), completion of year-end audit and quarterly review with auditors, and coordination of reviews and updates for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors. Refinanced high yield debt and raised private equity. Hired, trained, and transitioned to permanent CFO and Controller. Implemented first phase of Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements.

Responsible for finance, strategic planning, and program management for six global business units (all related to the electric power generation, transmission and distribution sectors) with revenues totaling $5 billion and 5000 employees. Architected strategy to build regional energy businesses in North America, Latin America, Australia, and Europe.

Led 5 engineers in the performance of design review, plant performance testing, start-up testing, and special projects. Completed Westinghouse Nuclear Operating Training.

Served in two submarines, USS Batfish (SSN 681) and USS Simon Bolivar (SSBN 641); completed submarine qualification and certification as Nuclear Engineering Officer.
