My goal is to provide solutions to legal issues presented by executives, managers, and members of the boards of the A Corporation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board, the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly, the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program, as well as other clients in the national agencies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and for Presbyterian Women.I work with client subgroups on domestic and international employment issues, draft policies and procedures, including employee handbooks, create compliance training, counsel supervisors on management issues, and conduct internal investigations. I have been called upon to be a project manager for the transfer of several business operations. In addition, I work with outside counsel on a variety of lawsuits in order to achieve the best results. I also handle risk management issues with an eye toward minimizing risk and avoiding claims and litigation, such as sexual misconduct claims.I have been a project manager on a number of large projects, including the transfer of operations of Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center.Prior work experience:Assistant District Attorney, Ulster County, New York, 1985-1987Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, 1987-2009Partner on Health Care Team, and connected to the Labor & Employment Team.Specialties: Drafting and implementing employment policies and procedures, including policy and procedure manuals and employee handbooks.
