- Provide 1:1 care for patients recently undergoing CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries.- Patients are routinely ventilated, temporarily-paced, with multiple continuous inotropes, and attached to intensive monitoring equipment including Swan-Ganz catheters, CVCs and ART lines.- Works in a tight-knit environment alongside Cardiac Anesthesiologists & Surgeons, Respiratory Therapists, Physiotherapists and Dieticians among others.

- Provide care under a 1:3 care workload for post-surgical patients, transfers from the 1S-Surgical Floor or Transitional Care Unit, or direct admissions from UBC's Urgent Care Unit requiring complex care short of intubation.- Intermittently function as the hospital's standby Code HAU RN to provide needed ECG monitoring, transcutaneous pacing, and defibrillation.- Worked in a team including HAU/Intensivist Physicians, Physio & Occupational Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, and fellow Nurses.

- Trained to work as a T15 Leukemia / BMT Nurse through 16 orientation shifts under direct supervision of a Primary RN, 3 months of full-time consolidation, and a written examination.- Provide 1:2 - 1:3 ratio care for patients admitted for a variety of malignant and non-malignant blood illnesses. Routine patient profiles on the unit include diagnoses with Leukemia and Lymphoma subtypes, Multiple Myeloma, Aplastic Anemia, and Myelodysplastic Syndrome.- Routinely treat acutely ill oncology patients as per physician-ordered Induction, Conditioning, and Consolidation Chemotherapy Protocols via the BC Cancer Agency.

• Provided care in a 1:4-5 ratio with surgical patients recovering from Post-Anesthesia Recovery to their discharge from the hospital.• Common patient profile includes admissions with a variety of surgical procedures that follow a steady trajectory rarely requiring higher-acuity monitoring.
