Responsibilities and Key Highlights include:- Finance lead on Pathways2Resilience, a Horizon Europe Mission Programme, supporting 100 Regions in the EU's mission to develop and implement transformational adaptation strategies and innovation portfolios by 2025. - Technical support to the Transition Plan Taskforce on embedding adaptation and resilience within the disclosure framework for Transition Plans, and wider capacity building materials.- Ongoing economics and finance support to Scottish Government's Adaptation Scotland programme.- Expert advisor to OECD on Climate Adaptation Investment Framework, EU-JRC programme on Transformative Innovation for Climate Change Adaptation, and HMT on Green Taxonomy.- Working on a variety of programmes, projects and activities to advance the scale up, and deployment of adaptation solutions in the UK and globally, including through:- Developing organisational and place based adaptation strategies, programmes and projects.- Business case development and options appraisal- Business model innovation and development- Developing Finance Mobilisation plans and bankable investments - Research and Innovation- Facilitation, training and capacity building activities- Monitoring, Evaluation, Reflection and Learning

Inputting into the development of ISO standards on adaptation, inc. ISO14090 (Framework for Adapting to Climate Change), ISO10491 (Adaptation to Climate Change – Vulnerability, impacts and risk assessment) and ISO14092.

Working towards delivering a just, net zero, and climate resilient economy for Glasgow, one which is good for people and planet. I lead Glasgow's Green Economy Unit, a new unit set up to enable the transformation to a green economy. Areas of action include:- Leading development and implementation of the Glasgow Green Deal - a 9 year mission to transform the economy to tackle the climate and ecological emergencies, through integrated and systemic action which delivers climate action, economic prosperity and reduces poverty and inequality - Green and Sustainable Finance - Encouraging development of green finance initiatives to align Glasgow's financial flows to align with the Paris Agreement and mobilise investment needed for mitigation and adaptation goals.- Climate related systems innovation, and more traditional low carbon / adaptation R&D.- Green jobs, skills and supply chains,- Climate investment pipelining and acceleration- Mainstreaming of climate and sustainability considerations into economic policy, strategy and delivery such as green business support and reskilling and upskilling- Organisational and individual capacity and capability building to retool the public sector for a new economy.

Working with others to provide a steer on IEMA's activities on climate change, including consultation responses and revisions to member guidance.

Lead the development of the Climate Ready Clyde initiative - a bold and ambitious collaboration between 15 public and private organisations to improve the economic prosperity and quality of life of Glasgow City Region - one third of Scotland's population - in the face of climate change. Key activities of the initiative are:• Delivery of a world-leading regional climate change risk assessment and adaptation action plan to provide a strategic framework for action; • Providing and facilitating climate leadership, making the case for adaptation across the City Region and beyond; and • Adding value to organisations' individual adaptation work through co-ordination, expert advice and support, training, knowledge exchange and capacity buildingKey tasks and responsibilities include:- Support and administration of the Climate Ready Clyde board- Co-ordination of adaptation activity in the Glasgow City Region- Leading development of a regional adaptation strategy, including the risk and vulnerability assessment- Providing a range of knowledge, advice, and capacity building support to organisations- Raising awareness and understanding of the need for adaptation action and building the profile of Glasgow City Region

Chair of the Core Cities UK group looking at Climate Resilience, reporting to the Low Carbon, Energy and Resilience Group. Key functions include:- Shaping and influencing local, national and international policy in relation to climate change- Facilitating knowledge exchange and sharing of best practice on urban climate resilience

The LAAP is a advisory group of DEFRA providing insight and support on climate change adaptation and resilience from a local government perspective. We are responsible for the delivery of a number of actions with the National Adaptation Programme.

Seconded to DEFRA to tie together work of Government, the GLA, London Councils and the Core Cities as agreed in the National Adaptation Programme. Key work included:- Scoping priority policy areas with potential to increase urban resilience- Identifying key issues and areas for consideration as part of the second national Climate Change Risk Assessment- Advising on areas of support to cities as part of the Environment Agency's Climate Ready service- Mapping existing examples of products and services to inform development of data and evidence around the adaptation economy.- Surveying London councils to identify areas for further support

Providing leadership, direction and support to a wide range of projects and initiatives in support of multiple policy areas, though with a specialism in Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation, and Sustainability policy. Working on a wide range of issues, including shaping the council and Newcastle Partnership's approach to Climate Change Adaptation. Produced a Local Climate Impacts Profile. Worked to develop local versions of UK Climate Projections. Co-ordinate the pilot of the EU Reference Framework on Sustainable Cities. Develop and manage the council's Performance Management system, including managing budget and training staff.

Project managed the development and delivery of the council's performance management system. Also worked on the council's approach to data quality. Produced Corporate Performance reports for Executive, Scrutiny and the Newcastle Partnership.

Piloted the introduction of a performance management system to manage delivery of the Norfolk LSP's LAA. Worked across Norfolk County Council, Norfolk Fire and Rescue, Police and VCS.
