Primarily worked on the Eminent Domain Team as an Agent, handling multiple property parcels for the TxDOT IH 35 Expansion Waco Project. Reviewed title documents and prepared eminent domain hearing files. Attended administrative hearings with landowners, lawyers and Texas Attorney General attorneys.

This position was a "deep-dive" into understanding diverse legal concepts as well as understanding the fabric of what makes a law office run. Our largest project was a massive-scale workers' compensation lawsuit involving Texas Mutual and hundreds of individual filings. Here, as case specialist, I served as key contact for almost 50 lawyers and support staff at The Division of Workers' Compensation; 15+ individual hospitals; and 60+ insurance firms.I researched extensive Texas laws related to stop-loss exception rule using resources such as Texas Register and the Texas Legislature Online. I also researched diverse legal questions, drafted and cite-checked legal documents and pleadings.One accomplishment that I'm proud of is developing a 17-volume comprehensive Reporter's Record in conjunction with TCDC court reporter to present exhibit notebooks to 3rd Court of Appeals. What was significant about this position is a development of strong project management skills. I managed huge case dockets for litigation and administrative law sections. On all projects, I worked closely with clients, attorneys, experts and staff to meet critical deadlines.

Exposure to the operations and procedures of The Supreme Court of Texas was the real reward of this position. It also gave me an incredible foundation.I updated the case management system, sorted cases, checked filings, and issued mandates. In addition, I kept the minutes for the Court and prepared the submission schedule for oral arguments. I also assisted in the preparation of orders and supplied publishers with statistical information relating to the business of the Court.

This was my first introduction into working at a law office, and it was primarily an administrative support role, where I handled legal document production and court filings. It was extremely good preparation for the subsequent role at the Texas Supreme Court.
