- Report to the Vice President Government Relations; responsible for the development and -implementation of initiatives that advance CAPP’s government relations (GR) objectives and advocating/networking with applicable political leaders and staff, relevant civil servants, and aligned third party associations and organizations.- Lead the implementation of increased coordination between CAPP and its member companies for CAPP priorities such as regulatory reform (C-69) and market access (C-48). - Provide GR strategic advice to multiple CAPP Priority Steering Groups as well as guidance to internal staff and external consultants. - Lead the active engagement of CAPP’s advocacy agenda in the U.S. including relationship development and mission support (further details in position below).- Managed the development and implementation of CAPP’s 2019 federal election platform and subsequent external engagement strategies with CAPP member companies and internal staff.

- Reported to the Vice President Oil Sands; was accountable for advancing key oil sands policy issues such as the Oil Sands Tenure Regulation through member and provincial government engagement.- Ensured members were aware of evolving issues and enabled them to support industry proposals/solutions to advocate with government stakeholders.- Responsible for leading CAPP’s federal government relations committee and strategic planning with CAPP’s Ottawa office. - Lead the active engagement of CAPP’s presence in the U.S. including: - - - Planning advocacy trips to Washington DC for CAPP’s Executive and Board Chair; - - - Engaging key U.S.-focused Canadian stakeholders such as Canadian Embassy in Washington, the Alberta Office in Washington DC; and member companies. - - - Engaging key U.S. stakeholders such as State Department, elected Congressional officials, Trump Administration, American Petroleum Institute (API), U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Calgary U.S. Consulate.

- Responsible for all contract management involved with the Carbon Capture and Storage Regulatory Framework Assessment (CCS RFA) including the development of statements of work, pre-qualification requests, and contract deliverables- Advise senior management on honoraria, expenses and budget issues- Supervise staff member responsible for the implementation of honoraria, expenses and budget planning- Obtained strong event coordination and execution skills by coordinating all logistics for a two-day workshop for 120 stakeholders from Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and Australia to commence the CCS RFA
