As the Founder/Owner, my role at The Works includes leading the operations and teaching teams, creative ideation and curriculum development, private event and wholesale sales, and overall strategic guidance.

Seattle Farm School offered urban homesteading skills to people of all ages with the mission to build a sustainable, self-sufficient, and connected community. Kellie joined as a co-owner in 2017 and purchased and rebranded the company as The Works Seattle in 2018. Building on Seattle Farm School's mission, The Works offers a collection of seasonal classes and hands-on workshops.

Worked as a freelancer in marketing and communications, including:• Co-host Encyclopedia Botanica, a weekly podcast about edible gardening, with the Seattle Urban Farm Company. • Yoga Advisor at 8 Limbs Yoga, providing education and guidance to students and continuing to build an inclusive community.• Web designer and Pacific Northwest adventure writer for Peace Vans, a VW van rental company based in Seattle.

Responsible for building consensus among cross-functional teams and ensuring successful implementation for the company. Oversaw management of over $1B in sales, including business analysis and management reporting. Structured complex and sometimes controversial business issues and developed recommendations for the executive team. Selected for the CEO’s Emerging Leaders program, designed to develop the next generation of company leadership.

Led a team of proposal managers responsible for positioning for large, strategic business pursuits. Business development efforts helped ICF secure hundreds of millions of dollars in new funding from Federal and commercial clients. Recognized by senior management for creating efficient and trackable systems that were used as a model for future business development.

Responsible for energy performance benchmarking, account management, training, program outreach and marketing, and corporate sustainability initiatives. Coordinated national business development and operations management for the Energy Efficiency Division. Started as a Research Assistant in 2005 and was promoted three times to the role of Senior Associate.

Taught hands-on environmental and cultural classes to students ranging from pre-school to adult. Led curriculum development and was responsible for recruiting, training, and evaluating interns.
