Some highlights include: * A complete update to our payments model from a one-time purchase to a subscription-based model - but one with unique features such as supporting monthly subscriptions, multi-month bundles and simultaneously making this future proof so that we could support any other arbitrary payment plan. * Conceptualization and implementation of a promotions management system that could be fully operated by marketing program managers instead of engineers - with abilities to run promotions by region, course, currency, and any arbitrary rules using those criteria.* Delivery of a new checkout flow to improve our checkout conversion rates. * As part of our COVID response to handle a surge in customer requests, delivery of a new tool to enable call center agents (external vendors) so they could ensure payment questions and requests are handled on time.

Work on building the "new" Grubhub - Seamless platform. Specifically, I've been working on the Search service for Grubhub & Seamless. I'm building a RESTful service for restaurant search using the Dropwizard (www.dropwizard.io) service framework, specifically using the Jersey(https://jersey.java.net/) library developing RESTful services. Other technologies used include Apache Solr (http://lucene.apache.org/solr/) and Apache Cassandra as document/data stores(http://cassandra.apache.org/), Jackson (https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson) & Model Mapper (http://modelmapper.org/) for data binding/marshaling, Guice (https://github.com/google/guice) for dependency injection, docker (https://www.docker.com/) for running and deploying apps.

I work with the Vendor Central Platform team which provides hardware and software infrastructure and support for developers to write applications for the Vendor Central website. This position involves maintaining and adding features to the Vendor Central infrastructure stack. Work is mostly in Java.

Analyzed deficiencies with the then existing server side monitoring systems, and designed a new backend to make it more robust, faster, extensible, easily maintainable and scalable. The backend server was implemented in C++Designed and developed API to support new features of some of Bloomberg's most critical databases, used for their real-time communication product (known as MSG) and added built in features to ensure low latencies. These API were developed in C++.Designed and developed a low latency, high volume system for sending audio alerts to users who received new messages, a feature which has been used extensively by most users of the Bloomberg Terminal. This was a server side system, implemented in C++.Designed and developed a system for algorithmically creating filters based on usage and matching them against incoming messages with very low latency. This system was implemented in C++. Resolved client issues and worked on troubleshooting of several critical production problems on a daily basis. This involved debugging, writing test programs, coordinating among several production groups to locate the part of the complex MSG system that needed fixing and managing deployments to production systems.
