An ecologist currently operating in the field of consultancy. I am passionate about the protection of Australia’s fauna and flora and work to ensure the correct advice is given to clients in the field regarding their obligations to threatened species and communities under current government laws and guidelines. I see the challenges of fieldwork as a privilege to aid in furthering the knowledge and records (or lack there of) of Australia’s threatened species to ensure their protection where necessary. I am always keen to help research or conservation efforts where the opportunity arises.A UQ medalist and seven-times Dean’s Commendation receiver whilst studying, I also act as an occasional casual tutor in The University of Queensland’s School of the Environment for high-school and university level students.Although less acted upon now, my IT skills have previously been honed through studies including a Cert. III in Information and Digital Media Technology and some university-level coding courses. I do not claim to be an IT wizard, but through these learnings I have been exposed to, and am capable of using, a broad range of documentation, database, statistical analysis and GIS software, with current further self-learning ongoing in the GIS space.Talk to me about conservation, herps (especially frogs) or orchids and I’ll be your best friend.
