Energy Efficiency Alberta (EEA) is a new provincial agency, the first of its kind in Alberta, that will deliver programs and services to help Albertans save energy, reduce emissions and save money.EEA is being established as part of Alberta's Climate Leadership Plan, the government's action plan on climate change, and will be funded through the carbon levy. Over the next five years, the levy is projected to raise $645 million for efficiency programs and small-scale renewable energy, supporting new jobs and the diversification of Alberta's economy.

I have the privilege of building and operating the first legal incubator of its kind in Canada. Our goal is to:1. Leverage technology to develop and deliver innovative legal services to self-represented litigants in the area of family law. Focus on unbundled, sliding scale flat fee services that empower clients to manage their own case;2. Provide a forward looking articling experience that better prepares students to deliver legal services in the 21st century; and3. Share our data, experience, and lessons learned with the broader profession to support a data-driven, objective discussion around access to legal services and innovation in the legal profession.

In 2012 I moved in house with Talisman Energy Inc. into a unique corporate legal position where I identified opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies within the legal department and led multi-functional teams in developing and implementing innovative solutions to create better value for the business at lower cost.

In 2005 I turned my focus to law firm operations becoming one of the first lawyers in Calgary to focus exclusively on the recruitment and development of students and lawyers. During this time I developed recruitment, training, and professional development programs designed to optimize processes, improve hiring success rates, reduce overall recruitment costs, and improve stakeholder satisfaction with both the process and outcomes.

I started my legal career in 2000 with Macleod Dixon (now Norton Rose Fulbright) practicing in the area of corporate commercial litigation, employment, and insurance defence. During that time I developed a keen interest in law firm operations and management and a drive to reevaluate traditional professional service models for greater efficiency, value, and professional engagement and satisfaction.
