I represent employers in all aspects of labor law, including collective bargaining, grievance adjustment, arbitration, unfair labor practice proceedings, matters of contract interpretation and strategic planning. My practice focuses on employers in the entertainment industry, where I represent trade show and exposition services companies, sports arenas and performing arts venues. I also represent not-for-profit employers in connection with their labor and employment issues. I counsel employers in respect of withdrawal liability claims that may arise from the collective bargaining process, corporate transactions and other triggering events. I also counsel employers in all areas of employment law compliance and represents companies against claims of employment discrimination before federal and state agencies and courts. I represent boards of trustees of multiemployer pension plans and collectively bargained group health plans concerning all aspects of plan design, amendment and administration, including compliance with Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor requirements applicable to qualified and non-qualified employee benefit plans. I advise trustees of employee benefit plans concerning their fiduciary obligations in the administration of such plans, including compliance with MPPAA and the Pension Protection Act. I also represent employers who establish and maintain pension and group health plans, including advising employers in connection with establishing early retirement incentive programs, defending breach of fiduciary duty claims and complying with COBRA, HIPAA and other federal laws and regulations applicable to employee benefit plans.
