Handsome Fella is a startup male grooming company that sells hygiene products for men. The business was founded in late 2017. The company is focused on selling bathroom products for men that are created on a small scale/ hand crafted by small businesses and independent makers. We believe that men should have access to products produced using the most natural ingredients and created in an ethical setting. Products that have a back story to them, where customers can see where the products have come from and what sort of company has produced them. All of our suppliers are based in towns, cities and villages across the UK, meaning money going back into many different local economies. We have recently launched the Handsome Fella Marketplace that allows the fantastic makers and creators of male grooming products to sell their products to a dedicated audience via the Handsome Fella site. This means that more products can be made available on our site without Handsome Fella having to purchase any stock up front which can potentially significantly expand the amount of products we can make available offering more choice for our customers. We have to approve all sellers that sell through us making sure that only brands and businesses that fit with our expectations and values can become part of the Handsome Fella community. We hope this allows the Handsome Fella brand to build up trust with our customers, with customers always being able to rely on Handsome Fella to bring quality, cruelty free and natural grooming products to them. Over the past ten years there has been a revolution in many different industries as customers want products with added authenticity to them, products that are ethical and higher in quality. It is time for this to happen in the male grooming and beauty industry as well.

Marcus Evans is one of the world's leading providers and promoters of global summits strategic conferences, professional training, in-Company training, business-to-business congresses, sports hospitality and on-line information. The company also owns a leading football club, represents Hollywood stars and produces films and entertainment.I am currently a conference producer, my role involves sourcing and then phoning high level professionals to carry out research on a key subject matter about which business leaders are desperate to learn more about and discover key solutions to the challenges they face on the matter. Using my research I then create and write the conference agenda. I am also responsible for speaker acquisition, making sure that the conference has some of the best and most advanced speakers.Besides the creation of the conferences I liaise with our marketing, sponsorship and sales divisions. Making sure they have all the knowledge and understanding necessary to generate the highest level of revenues possible for our events. This requires me to maintain a constant channel of communication between myself and all our teams. As well as being able to successfully explain often complex and, for them, unfamiliar topics. It is only through this that conference profitability can be maintained. Multiple conferences will usually be created within a relatively short space of time and so this requires me to manage several conferences at one time, dealing with any unforeseen problems and incidents that occur. Overall, it is my job to help shape and create our conferences from beginning to end, from the initial research stage to bringing on board speakers and finally attending and running the conference itself in person.

After graduating from university I moved to Indonesia where I lived and worked in a small city in West Java called Sukabumi. During my time there I worked for a start- up business that had recently been invested in by a successful businessman who operated a mining company. The company was called New Bridge Institute and provided English courses for the local population. The company was based in a technical college called Nusa Putra which was owned by the investor. Being a start- up company I was involved in helping to create and then carry out various marketing strategies, such as appearing on a local radio show, carrying out direct presentations to potential students and organising and hosting an English teacher’s seminar in the local college in which our company was based. I was also responsible for writing job advertisements to be posted on several websites, proof reading and improving documents written in English wrote by staff at the college I was based. I also created a company account on different social network platforms. As well as these office duties, I was myself an English teacher while there. I taught in various local schools to both adults and children. Certainly the job greatly improved my confidence of speaking in public and in providing an exciting and fun style of leadership to maintain the attention of the students when I was teaching English. Also, the job allowed me to learn about the developing economies of South East Asia, while there I certainly enjoyed discovering how the rapid economic growth in these areas where effecting the local community and their expectations of the future.

Ibiza

Over the summer of 2012 I moved to the Island of Ibiza, Spain, and worked during the summer for a major nightclub on the island, Es Paradis. I was responsible for attracting customers into the night club by carrying out a three day PR campaign in the run up to the club- night itself. This would involve meeting with my boss and discussing possible PR strategies to attract people to the night.

Over the 2011 summer I worked for the logistics company Kuehne and Nagel in a busy and sometimes frantic warehouse environment which operated as a place to wash supermarket trays industrially.
