I have been through a non-traditional college adventure including dropping-out to pursue management and coaching careers. However, through the last five years of intermittent education I have gotten an invaluable amount of experiences and skills that I will continue to foster, grow, and learn, to better myself and those around me. Through this about section, I would like to share some insight about these different experiences, the values, and skills I have gotten from them, in turn shedding light on who I am today.During my senior year of high school, I was a track and field athlete and took leadership and small coaching role not only with the high school but at the pole vault club I trained at as well. Through coaching, I began to understand how people learn, comprehend, and develop differently; reacting to different types of training and even the way feedback is delivered, this caused me to grow to try to quickly iterate and change ways of providing feedback and training to really be personalized towards each individual. Beyond coaching, I also took my first entrepreneurship class the last semester of high school where we learned the basics about the start-up process where we ended up developing business plans for a fictitious company. However, I took it to the next level and ended up forming the LLC and receiving funding from family to start up Lyko Sports, LLC. With that company, I learned a lot about accepting failures, not viewing them negatively. Growing and learning from failures and using them as a tool to improve the prototyping process to make better outcomes.When it comes to experience through my higher education journey, I have been in team leader roles with Track and Field, a Peer Mentor towards a cohort of 47 new Western students, and member of an entrepreneurship club and non-profit, as well as taking time off to have management & coaching positions. I have created plans to better a store location, training schedules for athletes, outreach with important deadlines and information for new college students, and pushed and inspired teammates to new potentials. I also was able to travel for a business conference to support new businesses with 1 Million Cups to Kansas City where I was able to voice matters of a small rural mountain town. Throughout my erratic education, being in management positions, and a constantly changing life path, I have found one of my best strengths to quickly adapt and thrive in almost any environment.
