My mission in Production Engineering at TMMK is to provide engineering services to maintain safe, cost effective, serviceable and efficient manufacturing equipment to build the highest quality vehicles.My role as a Production Engineer includes:-Contribute to PE team by providing diverse ideas and new insights-Support our customer needs-Lead the planning, installation, and start-up activities for equipment modifications-Identify problems and develop countermeasures that prevent reoccurrence-Lead the development of innovative technologies to be used on the production floor to improve safety, quality, cost and/or productivity

During my time with Toyota, I have been able to learn and implement new critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills using Genchi Genbutsu and TBP thinking. Key responsibilities include:• Lead internal logistics projects with TEMA and NAMC to troubleshoot and improve parts flow issues• Study and break down current processes to help achieve optimal business processes• Work with NAMC departments to confirm process requirements• Kaizen current internal logistics operations

Suzuki Garphyttan develops and manufactures advanced spring wire from various alloys for applications where the quality and performance requirements are extremely strict. The main applications are valve springs, transmission springs, piston rings, wave springs, die springs, linear guides and springs for injection systems.Over the past year I have developed skills as a process engineer for spring wire manufacturing developing an understanding of the core manufacturing processes including: carbon steel shaving, chemical treating, cold drawing, and heat treating for steel hardening. Key responsibilities include:Developing operator work instructionsProduct Quality Control - metallurgy testing, Eddy Current TestingConducting process audits of operators and machines to ensure consistency in quality and outputDeveloping CAD print designs for equipment replacement partsServe as a member of the Safety Team to provide for a safe work environment for our employeesServe as the lead customer service representative for our third largest customerResponsible for ongoing continuous improvement using Lean conceptsKey accomplishments include:Reduced quench oil waste through a simple nylon ring fixture to realize $55K in annual savingsAssessed our chemical treating process and implemented new concentrations of HCL and Zinc Phosphate to improve lubrication coatings and reduce surface defectsIn collaboration with our Swenden engineer developed a way to Eddy Current test unhardened wire to ensure metal integrity before the hardening process and reduce wasteStandardized the shaving die replacement process to improve wire diameter consistency and qualityConducted detailed process reviews in our China plant to bring process improvement ideas back to our U.S. manufacturing operation to reduce costs and improve quality
