Hi all,Short background, I graduated college in 2010 with a Geology degree, and spent the next 5 years traveling the country working as a consultant for different oil and gas companies. In 2015 the market took a down turn, and I wasn’t working as much as I needed to, so I decided to switch gears. I got my Real Estate license and while trying to get that off the ground, I bartended, served tables, and had a few other short term jobs until 2017. That was when I started at Dell in their 3rd party software division as an SMB Inside Software Sales rep. Dell does a very good job of training, and pretty soon I was fluent in selling, quoting, and licensing all the big software company’s products, but for some reason, I excelled at Microsoft (pun intended)!From there I was promoted upward a couple of times until I was covering Strategic Enterprise level accounts by the end of year 2 at Dell. After a year or so in a sales roles in that space, I took a position as a Microsoft Licensing Exec covering the strategic enterprise commercial space. During the pandemic I decided to move to SHI to do the same role for better pay, thinking if my focus is going to be Microsoft, I should work for a software and services company like SHI instead of a hardware manufacturer who sells software on the side.So in September of 2021 I started at SHI as a Microsoft LE covering the strategic enterprise space, where I remained until March of 2023, when I moved over to SHI’s new Microsoft Success Manager team covering strategic accounts. I have never worked with a more knowledgeable group of people than the LE team at SHI, but I also felt I could provide more value on the new success manager team.During my time at Dell and SHI I passed several MS Certifications, including the MS-900 and AZ-900, and I will have passed the AI-900 before this summer. I am well versed in all Microsoft licensing programs, and product licensing, as well as understanding the MS landscape moving forward via the different add-on products that don’t come with M365 E5 such as Copilot, Viva, Dynamics, Power Platform, Teams Premium, etc. I am also well versed with on-prem MS licensing like SQL, Windows Server, and Visual Studio, and understand the licensing implications of moving on-prem workloads to the cloud.
