My sweet spot is the intersection of product development and project/portfolio/PMO management. Identifying and guiding promising products through all phases of development using project management best practices - and leading and coaching others to do the same - is what makes me happiest.I've built a fulfilling 25-year career in the medical device industry, and there's something special about launching products that impact people's health and well-being - it provides extra drive and pride of ownership. I expect to enjoy working in the broad industry of med tech & pharma for many years to come.My success lies in my ability to bring people together - internal cross-functional colleagues at all levels, external partners/customers, and vendors - to collaborate on solutions and build consensus. Then I lead them to deliver well-designed medical products that pass the rigor of design controls and process validations. I believe in building "relational equity"; it just makes projects - and business in general - go more smoothly. Along the way, I relish improving business processes and addressing important details that others overlook. The results are positive relationships, productive teams, and robust products that enable sustainable growth.Following these principles and practices has enabled me to launch more than 45 medical device and drug/device combination product families. Market areas include sports medicine (arthroscopic tendon repair augmentation), orthopedics/spine (bone void fillers, injection-molded implants), general surgery (resorbable meshes), cardiovascular (puncture closure devices), and dental (membranes). I have also negotiated and closed a variety of business deals (e.g., contract development, exclusive manufacturing rights, licensing/royalty arrangements) with a combined worth of over $400M.
