As Executive Director, I led 30 employees to deliver medical and social services in the most remote healthcare clinic in Colorado. I applied my Lean management style to the internal organization, designed systems to enhance efficiency, improved communication, managed human capital, and helped people who were passionate about providing quality healthcare to align their strengths to the needs of the health center and the population.In order to continually improve and expand our services, I wrote and managed grants and handled a budget of $2.2M to achieve and maintain necessary financial stability.Working with the community board of directors to craft a strategy, we were able to expand services in this remote region:► Opened a pharmacy to provide affordable access to medicine► Implemented processes to ensure the PCMH certification would be maintained► Grew the clinic dental program to better meet community needs► Coordinated with regional care providers to fly critical patients to facilities of higher care ► Coordinated continued care when patients returned homeThese protocols and processes improved patient outcome in future years, leading to Uncompahgre Medical Center being awarded the “Health Center Quality Leader” Award in 2018.
