About Mark Epstein
Mark Epstein serves organizations that desire to develop their urban planning, active transportation, and site design capabilities. An experienced landscape architect and project manager, Mark has set up and expanded design departments for two civil engineering firms and an environmental science firm in the Seattle area, and was an Engineering Project Manager for the City of Bainbridge Island. He currently serves as Principal Landscape Architect for Sound Transit.Mark has training in natural resources, architecture, and urban planning as well as landscape architecture. He served as co-chair of the Healthcare and Therapeutic Design Professional Practice Network for the American Society of Landscape Architects for five years, and instructed therapeutic site design courses at the Chicago Botanic Garden, and previously at the University of Washington. Mark serves on the Boards for the Therapeutic Landscapes Network and helped form the Healthcare Garden Design Certificate Program (Joseph Regenstein, Jr. School) at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
